Slow play is one of the most common frustrations in golf and affects everyone on the course, whether playing in a competition or general play.
The Club has therefore introduced a short Pace of Play Code to set out clear, practical expectations for all players. The Code is not intended to make anyone feel rushed, but to help every group keep moving, maintain its position on the course and show consideration to those behind.
It includes guidance on competition and general play etiquette, Ready Golf, when to let faster groups through, provisional balls, searching for lost balls, picking up when you cannot score, and simple habits such as being ready to play, leaving bags near the route to the next tee and marking cards at the next tee.
Golfers are asked to read the Code and apply it whenever they play. A few seconds saved on each shot can make a significant difference to the pace and enjoyment of the whole field.
